gary o'brien is someone who saw some of the first images i posted along highway 89 north of flagstaff.  i'm not sure how, but he found me on facebook and shared with me his appreciation of the wheat pasting project.  originally, he's from flagstaff i think and spent time of the rez as a kid.  now, he lives in raleigh, nc.  (i have to say, i love the irony.)

last night, while in northern arizona for nau's homecoming, he ventured over to gray mountain and captured this image of hank and thelma under the milky way.  thanks gary.

Chip:

I found you through the FB pages of both Raechel Running and Blake Spalding.

I met them when they were just sprouts (aka wild-women-in-training) running the streets of Historic Downtown Flagstaff

Dolly and Walter were selling books in their shop a couple of doors north of my studio on Leroux Street. I was upstairs in The Bank Hotel running "The Naked Eye" with Bill Peck. And we all idolized Raechel's father John. Still do, as a matter of fact.

Those were good times. I'm glad to have met you, another part of the long human continuum on the Colorado Plateau.
