after kauai
exhaustion lives here. wow! after getting up at 4:30 a.m. yesterday to get to the airport by 5:30 for a 50 minute flight that entailed an 8 hour (yes, 8) layover in honolulu. then, we got to phoenix late, waited for the airport bus to get to long term parking and proceeded to get lost going to my friend's condo where we were to crash. finally, i pulled over after about 8 miles of not recognizing street names on the 202 (and realizing about that time i should be on the 101), i turned the gps on. it was 2:30 a.m. when we got to my friends condo. that didn't work out well.
jamaal + i didn't want to bang on the door at that time of the morning and i can't get a cell signal on her stoop. so, jamaal and i split for a hotel (where he proceeded to turn the tv on after a week of no tv at mr. johnson's flat. tv wasn't what i needed at 3:00 a.m. when he turned it off and we crashed hard.
he slept until 10:30. i got up to enlarge and lighten images to be wheat pasted in tucson in 2 weeks. (i'm really excited about this opportunity to do some indoor and outdoor installations for bicas - bicycle inter-community action + salvage; good folks promoting bike use and making it accessible for people of color).
the one good thing that happened today was that stephanie, the young woman working the counter today at kinko's, totally hooked me up. she gave me a coupon that allows for 1/2 off on printing big pieces until the end of february! dig that! my order today would have cost alot without her help. i'm going to have to anticipate the big pieces i'll do this spring and summer so i can get them printed now.
